My Dear Grandson Lex turns the big "5"

Our little Lex turned five this past August.  Kathryn (his mom) hosted a birthday party at his house that we were invited to.  He was so excited to be the birthday boy and receive his gifts.  Lex is such a cutie and always has a smile for me and a hug.  He has such a sweet demeanor.  I just love this kid!
Of course I got to take him out on his birthday to get some ice cream and to pick out a toy.  And we made sure we stopped on the way into the store to ride on the car in front.  You know kids never get tired of that.  He was so excited to pick out his toy and to bring home his candy for his brothers and sisters.

To Curb or not to Curb

After many years of trying to get our yard looking halfway decent, we finally had the labor this past summer (Jeph) to weed and rake and just get the yard looking good. Then we had to decide on curbing, should we or shouldn't we and which kind should we get flat or raised, colored or plain.  We decided on flat and uncolored, since nobody could see it from the road anyway, there was no purpose in staining it.  Now we just need to get plants in this spring and summer.  This represents a lot of work on Jeph's part and now we need to keep it up.  Again this was last August.

Surprise!!

Surprise! I am trying to catch up on my blog again and yes that is a car in my front yard. Last August I was sitting at my desk in my office and I heard a huge bang - and in my mind I am thinking "Jeph what are your doing with that lawn mower" but then I realized he wasn't even home and I went outside and found this cute little car on my front sidewalk. Apparently the fellow across the street didn't put on his emergency break or didn't have his car in gear and it just rolled down the hill and missed our trailer and Jeph's car. Too funny. At least it didn't hurt anything except his car a little.
