The Farewell

It sure seems like the 3 months from the time John got his call to his farewell and flown by so quickly. John was given the assignment to talk about Prayer from Elder Bednar's talk from last fall's conference. He spent a lot of time preparing and even kicked me out of the office, (because he didn't want any distraction) so he could concentrate on what he wanted to talk about. He did a real good job and he delivered his talk like a returned Missionary. There was another missionary that day giving his farewell talk and they both talked on prayer and they both complimented each others talk. The chapel and cultural was quite full as you can imagine with two missionaries giving their farewell talks. We are so happy that John has made the decision to go on a mission and has prepared himself to serve the Lord and the people in Hong Kong.
After Sacrament Meeting we invited John's friend and our family over to the house for a brunch. You can see there were some hungry kids.
We had donuts, muffins, bagels, cinnamon twist (homemade), fruit and dip and tons more. I don't think anybody went away hungry.
My Mom came up to see John off and to check on her house and to help me get things done. She was such a help and she wore me out. I think she is like the energize bunny. But is was great to have her here. I can't wait for her to move up here.
And of course there was tons of family that came and supported John. We so appreciated all those who came and said their goodbyes to him and wished him luck. There was probably more there, but these are pictures I got.
