Along came MARCH

Derek and I decided we needed to lose a few pounds and so we ordered the NutriSystem diet.   There never is a good time to start a diet and so we just dove in.  It was a little harder for Derek, because he was traveling a lot, but I was sure he would lose more than me.  We kind of did the same.  I am not sure we will do it again.  I had to supplement so much with our own fruits and veggies, that I felt there wasn't a whole lot of savings.  I though it would be easier not having to think about what we were eating, but that is all I thought about.  At least I did lose about 15 lbs in about 6 weeks.

I got sick after I took care of Kathryn's kids.  I haven't had a cold in a long time and it really got me down.  Probably because of the sore throat.  I think it is because of the diet and but I could be wrong. It took me a long time to get over it.
I also was asked to do a booklet for our Provident Living Fair we had in our stake.  That was a fun project.  I haven't done anything like that since I worked with Girls Camp.

I have been babysitting Dan's kids on Tuesday nights for a while now and that has been fun getting to know them better, especially Garrick.  You know when they are babies they don't have too much personality, or at least I don't see it much until I am around them for a while.  His big brothers kind of overshadow him.  But he doesn't let them too much.  He has a strong personality and lets them know what he wants and is a curious guy.  He wants to get into everything and boy I mean everything.  One day I had to keep my eagle eye on him, because he was tipping bowls of soup (way up on the counter) and then he was trying to get on the kitchen computer and hanging on for dear life as the chair slipped away from the desk.  (that is kind of funny, seeing  him hanging on trying to straddle between the chair and the desk)  He will roam at will if he gets the chance and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything.  He was coming up on 2 years old.

Ethan lost his big front tooth and while they were visiting, Derek asked him what he got from the tooth fairy and he told us he got a pack of gum, we laughed and Alan blurts out right in front of Ethan, "Yeah, he told us he didn't want money so we got him a pack of gum" I looked at Jacqui and she looked at Alan and he suddenly realized what he just said and we just started laughing. Thankfully, Ethan just went on to tell us that the Tooth Fairy gave him a harmonica last time, but he lost it. We think it went right over his head, or he is just playing along.

Then Kaitlyn decided to give us a little fashion show and started walking really funny like she was walking a runway, but it was way over exaggerated. It was too funny.

So, my Mom's birthday is in April and I asked her what she wanted for her birthday.  She wanted me to help her put up some blinds in her basement and put together a book case.  So that was easy enough.  We enjoyed working on the project together.

John's 21st birthday was this month, but he was still in Hong Kong, so in tribute to him, I just wanted him to know we were thinking about him. I love this picture with him and The Big Budha.

Kimber turned 3 years old this year and so this was the first time I took her out on her birthday.  She was so cute.  She was just a little princess as you can tell by her crown she picked out.

And at the very end of the month, my Mom and I went up to Salt Lake City to meet my brother Brad and my sister Denise at a little restaurant we like. We went to help him celebrate his birthday.  His son came along also.  It was fun to catch up and to eat the goodies they have at this bakery/restaurant.  Good eats.
So that was March.  I hope your March was good too.
