We decided to go to the zoo while we were in San Diego, because we just haven't been there in a long time and we heard they had made some changes. Of course Derek forgot his hat and in keeping with the Zoo theme got him a really cool looking hat.
I thought this was a pretty bird. Usually when you are at the zoo, you are with kids and don't have time to just sit and watch the animals for a while. So it was fun to take pictures an linger a little
This guy was just sitting right there against the glass and would not look around at us.
At the entrance to the bird show they had this man holding this beautiful owl. Her eyes were so intense.
The bird show is something new that I haven't seen at this zoo before. It was pretty awesome. I was sitting right close to where this bird came at caught this man's money.
Derek donated some money and the bird took it from him and put it in the container.
I loved the lion's enclosure. They were fun to watch and we got to hear them roar several times.
The leopard was sitting right close to the glass and I could get a real close up of her.

Another new thing was the elephant enclosure. It was fun to sit and watch them too.
We had fun, but you know it still is more fun to have kids with you and see their awe and wonder.
