Father's Day!

We were invited down to Kathryn's to celebrate Father's Day, but I spoiled it by having surgery a couple of days before that so they all came and honored their father here. Derek sure made a haul. But really, Derek has been one of the best Fathers I know.Just some of the reasons he is such a good Dad.
1. He rarely got mad at the kids and if he did, they knew they stepped over the line.
2. He calmly and reasonbly counseled with them and still does as they are adults.
3. He never criticizes them, to their face or behind their back.
4. He is a great provider, I don't think they have ever really had to go without.
5. He laughs and jokes with them all the time.
6. He is an amazing example as a father, husband and just a kind person.
7. He loves the Lord and shows it in his service in the Church and to his family.
8. I believe he has a personal relationship with each of his children.
9. He always puts their needs before his own.
10. He loves and cares about each and everyone of his children and Grandchildren and his wife.
That is why he is such a great Dad and Husband too.
