We got on the ship and got settled. We got a cabin with a balcony this time so we would be able to watch stuff from our cabin. It made it really nice sometimes. (when it wasn't too cold or windy). The first couple of days we were at sea and I think Derek was goin' nuts. But it was good to relax and read. We also had formal night the second night we were there. So we dressed up and ate dinner and then quickly dressed back down and went to see the shows.

We arrived in Ketchikan first and headed for our tours. We were going to the Great Alaskan Lumberjack show. It was pretty corney but good entertainment. We also found that all the little stores along the road are mainly jewelry stores trying to fleece tourists.

Next we went to the Bight Totem Park. This is a place where they have preserved Totem poles from around Alaska. Our guide had many stories about the different totem poles and explained a lot about them. It was pretty interesting. Also our guide was from BYU. I guess they recruit a lot of guides from Utah, because they are clean cut and most have worked with people from their missions. We had several tour guides during our trip from Utah.

I found my new best friend!

Relaxing out on our deck as the Ship leaves dock and we could see a little bit of Ketchikan as we leave.
